ESPN Bowl Projections

I am going to reserve projecting us in ANY bowl until we start winning some games. Yes, it is very possible that we reel off 6 or 7 in a row, and will likely be favored in those games, but we've got to show we can make plays in the passing game and stop someone when it really counts.

Auburn looms huge. A win and we may get on a bit of a roll. A loss and we may be fighting for six wins.

If we defend our home field against Auburn and South Carolina and win against Ole Miss, where we sould be favored, everything else till Tennessee is a total layup. I am not ready to write off this season yet, but what we have to do is pretty clear.

I think we're staring right at the Cotton Bowl at 8-4 and even at 9-3.

Arkansas won't get into the Cotton Bowl at 8-4. Alabama's schedule is fairly favorable.

9/29 - at Florida State
10/6 - Houston
10/13 - at Ole Miss
10/20 - Tennessee
10/27 - OFF
11/3 - LSU
11/10 - at Miss. State
11/17 - La. Monroe
11/24 - at Auburn

If they can get by Tennessee, that LSU game at home will be enormous. I can't see them losing again, which means they'd finish 10-2 or 9-3 at worst. That may be enough to get them in the Cap One bowl, but I'm not sure. It all depends on what happens with Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina.

I think the Cotton Bowl will be available to us. Bama with Saban and the accompanying traveling fans will be desirable to the Florida bowls, which pay more than the Cotton.

if we get to 8-4, I think we have a chance at cotton. But like Johnny said, we could lose about any SEC game left on the schedule right now, and if we finish 3-5 in the SEC we have no chance at cotton.

Alabama will certainly be attractive at 10-2, and possibly at 9-3. Georgia stands a very good chance of finishing 10-2 as well (or 9-3 depending on their 10/6 game at Tennessee and 11/17 at home against Kentucky).

Kentucky and South Carolina are two difficult teams to forecast. I can't see the Cap One or the Outback taking Kentucky over Bama, but probably South Carolina if they have the same record.

This could be a year where 2 SEC East teams take both spots. The Cotton Bowl will absolutely take Alabama over Arkansas.
