Season Wrap; Cotton Bowl Wrap

The Razorbacks completed a Top-5 season with a 29-16 victory over Kansas State in the Cotton Bowl on January 6.  The Razorpod crew presents their season wrap-up show with a Cotton Bowl report, recruiting news, and a unique look at Hog Hoops.  Also on tap are Jimmy G's recap of the Bowl Pickem contest, in which Johnny posted the rare double win (regular season and bowl).

Tom Logan covers the mailbag and recruiting.  Good times ahead for Hog Fans.

Ole Miss Wrap; Vanderbilt Preview

On tonight's Very Special episode of Razorpod, guest host Tracy from Tulsa joins the crew to discuss the HDN Special that went down in Oxford on Saturday.  The Hogs pulled out the 29-24 win over the Rebels, thanks to a late game interception and a tremendous second half.  After being down 17-0, Willy Robinson made halftime adjustments and the offense came alive.  The crew discusses why the Hogs start so slowly, whether the staff can start making better adjustments in the first half, and what needs to happen down the stretch to make sure we don't have a loss to an inferior team.  Picks contest remains static, and Johnny and Jimmy G rant about TV's influence on the average fan's college football enjoyment.

Auburn Wrap

The Razorbacks had a great 38-14 victory over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, and 3 of the Razorpodders were there to witness it.  The crew discusses the win, and looks at the rest of the schedule for some rank speculation about the rest of the season's games.  Johnny F. opens a commanding lead in the picks contest, and yours truly brings up the rear.  Bye week coming up, but next week is HDN time, so we will have a preview show.  Enjoy the show, and enjoy the big win over Auburn.

A&M Wrap; Auburn Preview

Arkansas had a stirring second-half comeback to win the 3rd Southwest Classic against Texas A&M on Saturday.  Tyler Wilson had a school-record 515 yards passing, most of which went to co-SEC Offensive Player of the Week Jarious Wright.  The Hogs looked awful defensively, and committed far too many penalties, but took advantage of cautious Aggie play-calling down the stretch.

Next up is the defending national champion Auburn Tigers, with Arkansas products Kiehl Frazier, Michael Dyer, and Gus Mal-a-zahn coming to Fayetteville.  This game is a crucial one for the Hogs' SEC hopes, and a victory this weekend could really boost the team to a nice stretch run.  The crew spends way too much time in this week's show gloating over the A&M win, and fretting a bit about Auburn.  Picks contest remains pretty static, although JimmyG really came back to earth after last week's showing.

Alabama Wrap; A&M Preview

Razorpod Season 8, Episode 7 brings you the post-mortem from the Hogs' 38-14 shellacking at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Defense and Offense had their problems, but the special teams gaffes really hurt.  After much hand-wringing, the crew puts the Bama game behind us and focuses on the upcoming Southwest Classic, now moved to a 11 am early kickoff.  Split crew on the game, and the one picking the Hogs are not the usual suspects.  The mailbag is heavy this week, and the crew has some sport with the "double-up to catchup" strategy.

Razorpod 10-14-09: Auburn has skid marks (again); Florida looms

Well, the Hogs put together their most complete performance of the year against the Auburn Tigers last weekend. JimmyG, Patrick Williams, and Johnny Fayetteville discuss in this week's show.  Florida and Dr. Tebow looms, and while the crew is optimistic, realism sets in.

A bonus this week with JimmyG and Johnny opining about the atmosphere (or lack of one) at Hog games.  Break out the dream sequence as JimmyG goes back to the Barnhill Arena days, Jim Robken, and the "Go Hogs" Spellouts of his childhood.

Razorpod_09_22_09: Why Willy Didn't Change Schemes; Why Mallett Is The Real Deal

This week's Razorpod show asks a fundamental question: would you rather lose a shootout or a Houston Nutt-style defense/running game? The answer: A shootout, of course, as it is much more entertaining.

The crew spends a lot of time letting Willy Robinson have it for failing to switch schemes.  Truly, would Georgia have scored any faster or easier if we had blitzed every down?  Probably not.  Mallett is praised, yet some offensive shortcomings exist.  Should the Razorbacks have run more?  The crew thinks so.  Yes, Arkansas has a history of making stars out of journeyman players:  Exhibit 1-A:

The crew's pessimism abounds: Alabama is a unanimous pick.  The usual gibberish follows-pick contest gets wacky, Jimmy G posts a perfect record last week, and Patrick Williams' stay at the top is short lived.  Jimmy G actually picks a sleeper team that is not Wazzu, and more.  Enjoy.

Razorpod 9-9-2009: Willy Robinson's 'Stache Wants Its Still Photos, and Make It Snappy.

In today's show, we discuss the fantastic offensive performance against Missouri State. Mallett is the real deal; the defense and Willy Robinson's new Yosemite Sam 'stache have some work to do; and special teams are semi-special.

In other news, Logan is off to a fast start in the Pickem, Williams and Fayetteville are mediocre, and Jimmy G stumbles badly out of the starting gate. This week promises some movement with Williams out on a limb with UCLA and Michigan. The crew splits 2-2 on USC-OSU in the first really huge game of the year. Oh, and by the way, the sleeper games are laughable.
