Sad But Probably True Heisman Breakdown

CFN does their Heisman breakdown. McFadden no longer the lead dog. We have to get to 9 wins for him to have a chance. Unlikely.

Agree with what the article said about McFadden. The only thing that helps him is that if there has been a true front runner, it has been DMac.

Brennan won't win it. He's a system QB and no east coasters see him play. Slaton and White will split the vote. Ray Rice plays for Rutgers.

The guy that is the true front runner now is Booty. However, they are much more committed to the run, which will keep his numbers down. Plus, he's nowhere near as impressive as Bush, Leinart, and Palmer. In addition, there is likely some USC fatigue.

Darren can still win the Heisman, but we have to go on undefeated until at least the Tennessee game to have any shot at all. Possible, but tough.

I think Tebow may be the frontrunner.

Tebow for Heisman. Buford called it on Razorpod 2 weeks ago.

I don't think a sophomore has ever won the Heisman, although D Mac finished second last year. Seems to be an unwritten rule, and I doubt they would break it for Tebow.

If Florida goes undefeated and secures a spot in the national title game, I think it will be very hard to pass him up. Especially when McFadden won't be in the mix as a result of his piss poor coaching staff and quarterback. There's not a player nearly as dominant than Tebow right now.

D-Mac is the best player in college football, but unless we win out, he has no chance of winning the Heisman. Can you guess how many national TV appearances the Hogs will make between now and November? I can - zero. The only game with a prayer of getting national TV coverage is Auburn, and CBS announced that they are either showing Alabama/Ole Miss or Georgia/Vanderbilt on that date. Maybe our good friend, ESPN2, will bail us out.

McFadden will fall too far off the radar screen to get back into the mix if we go six weeks without a nationally televised game. However, if we are 6-2 heading into the South Carolina game and beat them, Tennessee, MSU, and LSU, he may still have a shot. The same shot I have of landing Elisha Cuthbert now that she's single.
