Razorpod Cast Bowl Picks

Here are the Razorpod staff's bowl picks (against the spread). See how you stack up to the "experts." Remember, bowl pick season is separate from the regular season-no one can catch Patrick Williams as he has already won the regular season title.

Florida 38, Arkansas 28 SEC Championship

Arkansas fell to Florida in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta on Saturday night. The game was exciting and had many twists and turns. Hear all about it in this week's Razorpod, along with our Capital One Bowl preview.

Also, look for our bowl picks on this site later this week or early next week. Email us at razorpod@sbcglobal.net

Meanwhile, Razorpod will be on break until after the new year, when we'll be back semi-regularly to cover the Razorback basketball team. Until then, GO HOGS and beat Wisconsin.

Arkansas 31, Tennessee 14

Great Win for the Hogs...Jimmy G's trend of picking the opposing team seems to be working just fine. One more win to Atlanta!

However, can someone explain how the Hogs are jumped over by Rutgers? To quote Johnny Fayetteville:

Someone is going to have to get out their Big Chief tablet and big fat pencil and draw me a picture as to how Rutgers is ranked second by the computers, ahead of Ohio State. I just don’t get it. They have had a nice year, but this schedule doesn’t really set me on fire.

UNC (5 point win against a horrible team that is currently 1-9)

Illinois (convincing win against a 2-9 team)

Ohio (decent team. 7-3. Might win the MAC. Seriously, this might be their best win outside of the Lou)

Howard (Howard is 4-6 in the freakin’ MEAC. I don’t even know what the “MEAC” is)

S. Florida (7-3 in the Big East. Is that a great accomplishment?)

Navy (Service academy. Love the tradition. Very little talent)

Pittsburgh (Now 6-4, and Wannstedt’s porn stache is nosediving late in the season)

UConn (Last I checked, Ray Allen doesn’t play football. They’re 4-5, although they did beat Pitt by 1 Saturday)

Louisville (Big win.)

You can’t hate on Rutgers for their season. They have really improved. But is that the record of a national title team?

Check out this week's Razorpod (upcoming Wednesday) to see our thoughts on all the BCS craziness.

Arkansas 63, SEMO 7

Arkansas blows by SEMO 63-7. Darren McFadden scores a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage. Enough said. Listen to this week's Razorpod to hear some about the SEMO game, preview of the Ole Miss game, and Jimmy Gee's hatred for a new coach (not Houston Nutt). Plus, Patrick Williams takes over sole possession of first place in the picks-and proceeds to give it right back by insanely picking Iowa over Michigan.

Also, the sleeper picks just get worse and worse: Patrick Williams: Vandy (over South Carolina); Johnny Fayetteville: Pitt (over Rutgers); Tom Logan: Colorado (over OU); Jimmy Gee: Stanford (over Arizona State)

HUGE Win Arkansas 27 Auburn 10

The Razorback football season took a giant turn for the better this past Saturday with an unexpected 27-10 victory over second-ranked Auburn on the road. Can the Hogs parlay this huge win into an SEC Championship Game appearance? Or will the inconsistency that has plagued the program rear its ugly head again? Will Houston Nutt get a bill from Auburn University for trampling their flower beds on the way to conduct the band with the fight song? Find out on this week's Razorpod.

Arkansas 24, Alabama 23 2/OT

Alabama handed Arkansas a victory in Fayetteville Saturday. Alabama missed an extra point in overtime which would have tied the game, and Arkansas made its extra point to prevail. Mitch Mustain threw 3 interceptions yet the Hogs win. Does this bode well for the Hogs? Find out on this week's Razorpod (upcoming Tuesday night)

Thursday, September 21, 2006

Arkansas 21, Vanderbilt 19

Arkansas moves to 2-1 on the season with a squeaker on the last play in Nashville last weekend. Where is the vaunted Reggie Herring defense?

This week, can Arkansas stand up to the Alabama rushing attack? Can Mitch Mustain and the offense score enough to keep pace? Listen to this week's Razorpod (upcoming Thursday) for the answers and this week's picks.

Last week's results:

Patrick Williams (4-2 & 11-7)
Johnny Fayetteville (3-2 & 11-6)
Tom Logan (2-4 & 8-10)
Jimmy G (3-3 & 12-6)
