Houston's Seat "Mild" not Hot, per Schlabach

Houston's seat isn't Hot, but anything less than second in the SEC West and it could warm up, per Mark Schlabach at ESPN.

Jim Harris on Teresa Prewett and the Funky Bunch

Jim Harris in his new Arkansas Sports 360 website delves into the latest release of emails from the infamous Teresa Pruitt and her crew, who apparently have little going for them other than their connection to the Nutt family.

What's amazing is how much Diana Nutt is involved in the Funky Bunch's conversations. Case in point, this email apparently sent from Darby to Diana:

"Dana Caldwell is going to be in Fayetteville on Wednesday, June 20 and has planned a happy hour gathering at Hutch’s in Colt Square…He keeps talking about filming some documentary on the football program. Do you know anybody that could go there and try to discreetly listen in on the conversation and take pictures with their cell phone."

Ziemba - A Bitter Pill

Lee Ziemba from Rogers has already moved into a starting position on Auburn's offensive line. Barring injury, look for the 6'8", 300 pound Ziemba to be an All American by his junior year.

Rough Practice

Doesn't sound like practice went well yesterday, with the Defense not living up to Reggie's expectations and Casey Dick Struggling. McFadden fumbled two more punts, so that's the good news.

Defensive Line Moves

Malcolm Sheppard is moving inside, and Chris Wade has taken over at first team DE. This might change when Harrison comes back, but it is a signal that perpetual undeachievers Fred Bledsoe and Marcus Shavers haven't stood out at DL.

New Era Option

Get ready to see this in the fall. The question is, how much? And maybe, with this team, should we switch to an option first team?

Mid Major Hoopla

Ivan Maisel writes about the rise of the mid-major (again). Thanks to the Sooners, we'll have to be subjected to this kind of thing for at least another year. Pay careful attention to the illuminaries these mid majors upset in their BCS games - Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and an unprepared OU team last year.
